Community water forum Feb. 23
If you are wondering where Wake County’s
water will come from in the next few years, how global warming will affect our
rainfall and water supplies and what you should be asking community leaders to
do now about water, you may find some answers at a free community forum on Feb.
23.
On that Saturday, WakeUP Wake County
will sponsor the forum – Will the Water Run Out? – at the McKimmon Center on
the North Carolina State University campus at 1101 Gorman Street. It will run
from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
The forum will also be sponsored by
the City of Raleigh, the North Carolina Conservation Network, the Neuse River
Foundation, the Triangle Community Foundation, the UNC Water Resources Research
Institute, the Wake Audubon Society, and the Wake County League of Women
Voters.
Some of the more respected academic
and government water experts will address the water supply challenges for our
rapidly growing region. They are:
Ř
Mary
Brice, the co-chair of the Raleigh Water Conservation Task Force
Ř
Tommy
Esqueda, director for Wake County Environmental Services
Ř

Goudreau, N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission
Ř
Bill
Holman, Senior Fellow at Duke University
Ř
David
Moreau, director for the UNC Water Resources Research Institute and the N.C.
