Gardening program in February

Three local Wake County Master Gardener Volunteers – Liz Ford, Hugh Nourse and John Pelosi – will be at the Wake Forest Library Wednesday, Feb. 21, to share some gardening expertise about the warming climate and other topics and answer questions.

The program, sponsored by The Friends of Wake Forest Public Library, will begin at 6:30 p.m.

To enable the library staff to know how many people to expect, you are asked to register in advance at the circulation desk. There is no limit on the number of people, and the event is free, part of the programs the Friends of Wake Forest Public Library present every year.

The Friends are selling book bags at the library. The sturdy white and green bags are $5 each. Just tell any library staffer you want to buy a bag.

Other activities at the library include:

-- two programs in the family storytime series, Twilight Tales, held every second Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. On Feb. 14, the theme will be Valentine Fun, and on March 14 there will be a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

-- this year’s Wake Reads Together choice, “Memory Keeper’s Daughter,” by Kim Edwards will be discussed by the Wake Forest Library Adult Book Club on Thursday, Feb. 22, at 6:45 p.m. at The Well.
