Every
year in December the Wake Forest Town Board appoints and re-appoints members to
its advisory boards, boards which offer unique opportunities to serve the town
and help to shape its future.
The
board has a policy of limiting service on the boards to two three-year terms.
The out-of-town members on the boards are recommended by the town board and
appointed by the Wake County commissioners for two-year terms. All advisory
boards except the planning board and board of adjustment have nine members.
To
apply for a board, you may see Town Clerk Joyce Wilson MMC, 554-6190, jwilson@wakeforestnc.gov or go to
the town’s website for an application, http://www.wakeforestnc.gov.
Applications must be received by close of business Wednesday, Nov. 21.
The
town board will interview the candidates at its Dec. 6 work session and vote on
them during the Dec. 18 meeting.
The
most visible board is the planning board where the terms of five in-town
members and one out-of-town member expire in December. Kim Parker is the
out-of-town member; the in-town members are Tom Cornett, Chairman Bob Hill,
Mike Martin, Steve Stoller and Peter Thibodeau.
The
planning board has 10 members who serve three-year terms. It meets the first
Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in town hall.
The
other advisory boards are:
- The
board of adjustment where terms are expiring for three in-town seats and
one out-of-town seat. It meets as needed.
