'What's In A Name?'
runs thru Saturday

The Theatre Maniacs first production, a musical revue called “What’s In A Name?,” opens Thursday, Oct. 4, and runs through Saturday at Franklin Academy, 1127 Chalks Road.

The witty musical review will feature songs from a host of Broadway shows, including “The Sound of Music,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Seussical,” “Gypsy,” and “The Secret Garden.”

The cast includes adults from area towns and 10 students from six area schools.

The shows begin at 7 p.m., and tickets are $8. They may be purchased at The Cotton Company in downtown Wake Forest or online at http://www.theatremaniacs.com using Google Checkout.

Theatre Maniacs is a new educational performing arts association headed by Joe O’Keefe.

“Our area has such a tremendous creative community, it’s only logical that there should be an arts group that gives students and adults the opportunity to collaborate on musical theatre productions,” O’Keefe said.

The director for this first show is Koko Thornton. O’Keefe is the music director, and Lori Anderson is the accompanist. It is presented by the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment and the JPO Music and Marketing Band.
