People
have through Friday, Sept. 14, to
register to vote in the Oct. 9 Wake
County bond issues for libraries, Wake
Technical Community College and open
space.
Passage of the library bonds
is critical for Wake Forest because the
library on East Holding Avenue is at the
top of the list for an expansion.
People in Raleigh and Cary
will be voting for city council members,
and there will also be voting in
districts for school board members. All
Wake County voters will be asked to cast
ballots about the bond issues.
The bonds would provide $45
million to build new libraries, expand
older ones and update some. Wake Tech
would receive $92 million for capital
costs to expand its offerings, and the
county would have $50 million to
continue its successful open space
program.
To register, go to Wake
Forest Town Hall, to any high school or
motor vehicles office. Go to
http://www.wakegov.com and choose
elections for full details about
registering, a look at the Oct. 9 ballot
and any other information you need about
voting. |
