Probably the biggest yard sale of the
fall will be that sponsored by the
Community Response Team on Saturday,
Sept. 29, from 7 to 11 a.m. in the
vacant lot in the southwest corner of
South White Street and East Elm Avenue.
The team members will be at
the former Winn-Dixie – that’s the old,
old Winn-Dixie – in Wake Forest Plaza on
East Elm and Brooks on Sept. 8 and 22
from 8 to 10 a.m. to receive
donations. “We are asking for
donors to please screen the items and
donate merchandise they know will sell
quickly at this type of yard sale,” team
member Mike Johnson wrote in an e-mail
about the update.
“We would really appreciate
baked goods as we know those items will
sell the best and sell quickly.” To
donate baked goods, take them to the
Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce on South
White Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 28.
The Community Response Team
– all local volunteers – will use the
money from the sale to purchase supplies
and equipment to use when the next
emergency strikes here.
The Community Response Team
board of directors wants everyone to
know they are sincerely grateful for the
support of local clubs and individuals. |
