There was some confusion and the
watering rules published last week in
the Gazette were somewhat inaccurate in
the information about irrigation
systems.
The correct time when
property owners may use their irrigation
systems is from 12 a.m. (midnight) to 10
a.m. on Tuesdays for properties with an
odd-numbered address, Wednesdays for
properties with an even-numbered
address.
If you are using a sprinkler
at the end of a hose, you may water from
6 to 10 a.m. and from 6 to 10 p.m. on
Tuesdays for odd-numbered addresses,
Wednesdays for even-numbered addresses.
If you are holding the hose,
you have an extra watering day. You may
water from 6 to 10 a.m. and from 6 to 10
p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays for
odd-numbered addresses, on Wednesdays
and Sundays for even-numbered addresses.
Everyone may only wash their
vehicles at home or pressure-wash homes,
decks and driveways on Saturdays and
Sundays.
The City of Raleigh’s letter
informing its customers about the new
watering rules, which began on Tuesday,
Aug. 28, did not arrive at the Gazette
editor’s home until Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Readers may have received it later. Also
it was very difficult to find the new
rules on the city’s website. |
