Some people in town have heard a rumor
that Anne Hines, a candidate for the
three seats on the Wake Forest Town
Board, has withdrawn from the race.
It is untrue.
Hines said that the false
story apparently began with the News &
Observer. After Boyd Crane withdrew from
the race “someone looked at the wrong
line [in the elections board website],
my name instead of his. I had a call
apologizing for the error.”
“I
do plan to stay in the race,” Hines
said. “In fact, I'm looking forward to
having the opportunity to serve on the
town board. I've been in Wake Forest for
20 years and feel I can bring a
different perspective about where we've
been and where we are going.”
“Campaigning is hard work,
but it is a wonderful opportunity to get
to know the citizens and learn more
about what is actually going on in the
town,” Hines said.

The Wake Forest Chamber of
Commerce will sponsor a candidates’
forum on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 7 to 9
p.m. in town hall. The forum will be
televised on Channel 10.
The seven candidates are
vying for the three seats held by
Stephen Barrington, Velma Boyd and David
Camacho. Barrington, who was chosen this
year as executive director of the
Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, is
not seeking another term. Boyd and
Camacho are candidates as are former
commissioner Rob Bridges, Anne Hines,
Chris Kaeberlein, John Shoemaker and
Peter Thibodeau. Boyd Crane, who would
have been the eighth candidate, has
withdrawn from the race.
