The Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce has
set Tuesday, Sept. 9, for its annual
candidate forum where the questions
posed have been submitted by chamber
members and others.
The forum will be from 7 to
9 p.m. in the meeting room at the Wake
Forest Town Hall and will be televised
on Channel 10.
The seven candidates are
vying for the three seats held by
Stephen Barrington, Velma Boyd and David
Camacho. Barrington, who was chosen this
year as executive director of the
Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, is
not seeking another term. Boyd and
Camacho are candidates as are former
commissioner Rob Bridges, Anne Hines,
Chris Kaeberlein, John Shoemaker and
Peter Thibodeau.

Boyd was not at last week’s
public hearings before the planning and
town boards because she was in Rex
Hospital, still sedated from surgery on
her hand Monday night to remove an
infection. She will watch a video of the
meeting as all the commissioners do when
they are absent.

The Gazette has been told
that one candidate, Hines, already has
placed some campaign signs.

The Gazette sent an e-mail
to all candidates Sunday, Aug. 12,
inviting them to report any campaign
events for inclusion here. The questions
for candidates will begin in September. |
