Donnie Hight, president of the Veterans’
Memorial of Wake Forest Inc., sent out a
letter last week soliciting funds to
maintain and expand the memorial near
the golf club in Heritage.
It was dedicated on Nov. 11,
2001 and is the impressive backdrop for
a number of ceremonies each year.
It is dedicated to the men
and women from the Wake Forest area who
have given their lives in America’s
conflicts.
“Our plans for the future
include a permanent endowment fund,
supporting disabled veterans and youth
education programs,” Hight wrote.
