 Get a thrill
from Blueberry Hill

Fats Domino would really get a thrill from the blueberries Louis and Shirley Jackson produce, and the couple is sharing them with the customers at Saturday’s Wake Forest Farmers’ Market.

Cleaned and graded, each plump dark blue berry is sweet on the tongue by itself, ideal for pies and cobblers and good for your health.

The berries are just one of the taste delights at the market, which is open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday in the gazebo parking lot on South White Street.

There are vine-ripened tomatoes, both modern and vintage varieties, green beans that really snap, zucchini and yellow summer squash, onions, garlic, eggplant, basil, fresh eggs, locally-grown beef, pork and chicken, greens, flowers, cheeses, plants, pies, breads and desserts along with pottery and handcrafts. The market does indeed offer a cornucopia of delights.

Local Master Gardeners will also be at a booth to answer questions about gardens and plants.

Look for these vendors who are happy to share their wares and goods:
