Another reason to shop at each
Saturday’s Wake Forest Farmers’ Market –
aside from the fresh, locally-grown
fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs
and items such as specialty sauces – is
to help the Wake Forest Fire Department
by vying for some great prizes.
The current raffle has been
extended until June 30, and the prizes
are pizza coupons from Domino’s, a
beautiful beaded purse from Sunny Side
Up Tanning Salon and Boutique, and a
one-hour massage from Heavenly
Appearances.
“All the prizes were
generously donated by downtown
businesses to help us raise money for
the Wake Forest Fire Department,” Terri
Wilkinson, a market organizer and
vendor, said. Last year’s raffles
benefited the Bunn Fire Department.
Local Master Gardener
Volunteers are at the market each week
to answer questions about gardens and
plants.
The vendors at the weekly
market offer locally grown produce,
meats, poultry and cheese along with
flowers and plants, baked goods, crafts,
jellies, soaps, candles, lotions,
