Several people and the editor have
wondered about the wood construction for
the three-story, 118-apartment building
now going up on the east side of South
Main Street just south of the N.C. 98
bypass.
This week David Faircloth, a
building inspector for the town, said
the building meets the state building
code and has sprinklers in the rooms,
firewalls and elevators.
“There was a very extensive
review of the plans,” Faircloth said.
“It had to be reviewed by the state as
well as us.”
Colson & Colson of Salem,
Ore., are building the complex, The
Lodge at Wake Forest, which will open in
the fall. There will be full service
rental apartments with the rent
including three meals each day served
restaurant-style, weekly housekeeping
with linens, all utilities, cable TV,
transportation to appointments and
events and a full activity program. A
spokesman said they are reserving the
studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom
apartments now. |
