Town, firemen agree
to meet, plan jointly |
|
Tuesday
evening town and fire department officials
agreed they should plan for future personnel,
equipment and stations together, and a committee
with Town Manager Mark Williams, Wake Forest
Fire Department Chief Jerry Swift, two
commissioners and two directors from the fire
board would be established to make plans and
keep both bodies informed.

Town, Ammons
to fix erosion problem |
|
The town
will take responsibility to fix the erosion and
flooding problems some Wait Avenue residents
have experienced after the state Department of
Transportation finished using but never seeded
or stabilized a borrow pit on the Ammons
reservoir tract.

56 homes added
in May in WF |
|
Builders
paid for 56 residential building permits in May:
24 townhouses and 32 single-family hones.
Those 56 homes make a total of 267 homes that
will be added to the town in the first five
months of 2007. It is a rate lower than in some
past years.

Library news
Parking lot now open |
|
The
parking lot at the Wake Forest Library is now
open. It had been closed for construction of a
larger lot to accommodate both the library and
the Northern Regional Center, which is planned
to open early next year.

Youth can apply
now for new board |
|
Area high
school students who are interested in serving on
the newly-formed Youth Advisory Board during the
1007-2008 school year may apply now on
applications available both at the Wake Forest
Town Hall and at the town’s web site

Water/sewer policy,

of Wake Forest no longer owns the water and
sewer systems serving its residents, but the
town commissioners still want to husband the
water and lessen the flow of sewer to stay
within the terms of the contract with the City
of Raleigh and avoid purchasing more water or
sewer capacity.
