Tresa Jalot, the deputy director of the
Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce, has
submitted her resignation. Her last day
will be June 21.
Jalot has been serving as
the interim executive director since
Mark Fleming left that position in March
to become the vice president of NCFREE
in Raleigh.
Renee Shaw, the
chairman-elect for the chamber’s board
of directors, made the announcement
Monday afternoon but did not include
information about who would be the
interim director in Jalot’s place if a
permanent executive director has not
been named by that time. Also, Shaw did
not say when the new executive director
is expected to be named.
There are two more staff
members at the chamber, Darren O’Connor,
membership director, and Carolyn Furr,
the executive assistant.
Shaw said she was saddened
to have to make the announcement and
praised Jalot. “In all cases her love of
this organization and her community has
been apparent. She is a true
professional and we could always count
on her to get the job done.”
Jalot has been at the local
twice, first as the membership director
and then when she returned in the summer
of 2004 as the deputy director. She is
married to WRAL-TV traffic anchor Mark
Roberts, and they live in Wake Forest. |
