The
Wake Forest Cultural Arts Association is
auctioning off two murals that were
painted by children with the Boy's and
Girl's Club of Wake Forest during the
October Autumn Arts Festival.
The murals are on display in the windows
at The Farrelly Group store front at 212
South White Street in the heart of
downtown Wake Forest.
Both are 4 feet by 8 feet
and painted in bright colors. One
depicts a downtown similar to Wake
Forest’s, and the other is a crowded
rain forest scene or jungle scene with
red-eyed frogs, lizards and leaves.
Crystal Worzella with
Cultural Arts said the group auctioned
off one mural for $450, but this year
there has been little interest. The
current high bid on the downtown mural
is $130, and there is no bid on the
jungle mural, which has a minimum bid of
$100.
“All the money goes to a
great cause, the Wake Forest Boys and
Girls Club,” Worzella said.
