Does your house need better plumbing or
heating? Is the porch rickety? Do you
need newer, safer wiring?
If your income does not
stretch to make the repairs you want to
do, you need to attend the Housing
Rehabilitation Program Fair at the
DuBois Center the afternoon and evening
of Monday, June 4. There will be two
sessions: from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to
9 p.m.
The Northeast Area
Neighborhood Association, the DuBois
Center, the Town of Wake Forest and Wake
County Housing and Community
Revitalization (HCR) are jointly
sponsoring the fair.
It is open by appointment
only for individuals and families whose
incomes are below 80 percent of the
area’s median income.
To ask questions or to make
an appointment, call Ann Ayers at
570-7999 or write to her at
aayers@wakeforestnc.gov.
HCR, which receives funds
from the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development, helps homeowners and
investor-owners repair their houses with
the help of low-interest or deferred
payment loans. The loans can be used to
prevent or correct health and safety
problems as well as to maintain and
improve the supply of safe, decent and
affordable housing units. |
