The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce
is planning some entertaining events in
the next month – a salute to business
women and the reverse raffle – as well
as a lesson about Wake Forest history.
The Heartfelt Salute to
Women in Business, sponsored by Rex
Healthcare, will be held Thursday, Feb.
9, at noon at TPC Wakefield with speaker
Denise Ryan and a heart-health
presentation. The cost is $25 each, and
chamber members are asked to tell Tresa
Jalot, the deputy director, if they plan
to attend by Monday, Feb. 6. Send an
e-mail to
tresa@wakeforestchamber.org.
Cancellations after Feb. 6 will be
billed.
A new and popular event is
Business Before Hours. The next one is
planned for Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 8 to
9 a.m. at the Wake Forest College
Birthplace Museum at 450 North Main
Street. The topic will be the history of
Wake Forest, and the cost is $10, which
includes breakfast catered by Chick-fil-A.
Send an e-mail to Darren O’Connor at
Darren@wakeforestchamber.org by
Friday, Feb. 10. If you cancel after
Feb. 10 you will be billed.
The chamber’s biggest
fund-raiser is the March Madness Reverse
Raffle, sponsored this year by The News
& Observer. It will be held on Thursday,
March 2, at 6 p.m. at the Wake Forest
Civic Center on Capcom Drive.
Jalot is encouraging people
and businesses to donate auction items
worth more than $25 for the auction. For
more information about this event, go to

or go to the chamber site at

There will be a
ribbon-cutting for a new business, the
A1 Personal Storage at 10880 Star Road,
at noon Friday, Feb. 10. |
