Tuesday night, Feb. 7, the Wake Forest
Planning and Town boards will hold
public hearings about two commercial
requests.
Glenn Boyd of Crossroads
Ford in Cary will ask for a special use
permit to build a car dealership on the
former Weavexx site between Capital
Boulevard and South Main Street. The
buildings have been demolished and the
rubble used to fill in the small valley
near South Main to make the entire
22.85-acre site usable.
The plan calls for display
parking for 862 for-sale vehicles to be
on the Capital Boulevard side. The sales
center and service center, two separate
buildings, to be closer to South Main.
Access from Capital
Boulevard will be through the shared
access driveway to Wake Pointe Shopping
Center (Wal-Mart). There is an existing
driveway from South Main, and no more
will be added.
Most of the land is zoned
industrial with a small portion zoned
for highway business.
The second request will be
made by Viking III Associates of Cary
for 2.75 acres on Siena Drive south of
Lakeview Avenue and north of the N.C. 98
bypass. Viking wants the property
rezoned to conditional use neighborhood
business to match the adjoining property
it owns that fronts on the bypass.
Planner Ann Ayers is
recommending that construction not begin
until the bypass is complete and that
the two pieces of property be developed
in a unified fashion.
The property in question is
next to the Holding Ridge subdivision.
At this time, it is not
clear whether Siena Drive, which
continues into the Cimarron subdivision,
will be connected and cross the bypass.
The public hearings begin at
7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on
Channel 10. |
