The third Autumn Arts Festival will be
held in Wake Forest this fall on
Saturday, Oct. 14, and the underwriting
organizations, the Downtown
Revitalization Corporation and the Wake
Forest Cultural Arts Association, hope
to attract people from throughout the
Triangle as well as from this area.
The groups plan to heavily
promote the event through newspapers,
radio, television, direct mail and
e-mail campaigns.
At the same time, they want
every local artist to be in the historic
downtown area that Saturday – and we
know you can hardly turn around without
bumping into an artist.
The groups also are still
soliciting sponsors for the day-long
event. The sponsorships are affordable,
ranging from $100 to $500. The deadline
is Aug. 30.
You will see a number of
changes in this year’s festival,
beginning with the date, which was
changed from early September to October
to escape the late summer heat.
This year the artists’
booths will be in the gazebo parking lot
on South White Street, the most visible
and popular location in downtown. Live
music and food will be available in the
Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce parking
lot, and the activities for families and
children will be in East Owen Avenue,
which will be closed for the event.
