There
will be a free erosion and sediment
control workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 30,
that will be of particular interest to
site designers, civil engineers and
contractors. The workshop will run from
9 a.m. to noon at the Flaherty Park
Community Center at 1226 N. White St.
The speakers will be Mike
Moon and John Parrish of CFP Inc. and
Andy Smith and Brian Spell of Eco Turf
Inc. Their topics will be state seeding
regulations and installation,
geo-textiles and other stabilization
products, basin installation, baffles
and skimmers, silt fence and inlet
protection and requirements of the
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES).
Town staff will discuss the
town’s ordinances and the new erosion
and sediment control ordinance and
enforcement.
