 Good Neighbor Day Sept. 17

One of its goals is to promote neighborliness and bring together the diverse groups of people who live in Wake Forest. To that end, each year the Human Relations Council hosts Good Neighbor Day, and this year it will be Sunday, Sept. 17, in Holding Park.

There will be food, music and games that afternoon for all ages.

Mitch Lawson, the council chairman, has also sent letters to Wake Forest businesses asking for their help in sponsoring the event. Sponsorships include the gold at $1,000, which puts the company name on all media releases, the banner and the T-shirts plus a five-minute description of the business during the event. A silver sponsor for $500 will also get name recognition on the event banner and T-shirts, and a bronze sponsor will be acknowledged from the stage and allowed to give out coupons and specialty items.
