The temperature – ah, yes! – but there
will be other sizzling items in downtown
Wake Forest for Art After Hours Friday,
Aug. 11.
Two local artists will be
featured at the Sunflower Studio at 214
E. Jones Ave., Vivian Wells and Amy
Sawyer.
Wells a painter with an
impressionistic style, will be
displaying florals and still-lifes.
Sawyer will show her one-of-a-kind
copper sculptures, stained glass and
indoor-outdoor creations.
The music will be by local
favorite Mr. Felix, Robert Woessner and
Mary Catherine Johnson, and there is
always food, wine and displays of other
local art. The studio will be open from
5 to 9 p.m. that evening.
At the Cotton Company, there
will be a debut artist reception and
wine tasting. The artist is Susan Espin,
who has recently relocated from New
Orleans to the Triangle.
The restored cotton
warehouse that is now a marketplace for
home furnishings, children’s toys,
collectibles, cards and gifts will be
open for the monthly event from 6 to 9
p.m.
Other shops and studios will
also be open for browsing and shopping.
Visitors are encouraged to top the
evening with dinner in one of the
downtown restaurants. |
