 Follow the lure of garlic
to the Farmer’s Market

To you is garlic that rather crusty plastic bottle labeled “Garlic Salt” you sometimes dig out from the back of the cupboard?

Isn’t it time you learned about garlic and began to use the different varieties to enhance your cooking?

Take that first step Saturday and go to the Garlic Festival at the Wake Forest Farmer’s Market. You will be able to sample the wide variety of garlic grown by local farmers. You will learn how to use the different varieties in dishes prepared by Chef Thom Thomlinson.

And you will see something quite rare, the Giant Garlic Man.

The Wake Forest Farmer’s Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October in the gazebo parking lot on South White Street.

Along with garlic, you will find locally produced, organic meats, vegetables, flowers, soaps and lotions, baked goods, lemonade, plants and pottery.
