 From the chamber
Input solicited for school post

The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce office will be closed until noon Thursday, Jan. 19, to allow employees to attend funeral services for Graham Johnson, 16. His parents are Bob and Elizabeth Johnson, owners of The Cotton Company. Elizabeth is the chairman of the chamber’s board of directors.

Do you have an idea about who the next superintendent of Wake County’s public schools should be, or maybe you want that person to have certain qualifications?

You can be heard by filling out a survey that you will find on the web at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=702021643661. The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce’s education taskforce is asking for the input. You can also find the survey at http://www.wcpss.net.

On the education front, the chamber still needs a few more sponsors for its Chamber Chalice Awards which are given to outstanding teachers in local schools during the monthly Business After Hours. The cost is $100, and two sponsors are needed for each school, with the teachers receiving the entire $200. Call or e-mail Tresa Jalot (tresa@wakeforestchamber.org) if you want to participate.

The chamber and Rex Healthcare are sponsoring A Heartfelt Salute to Women in Business Thursday, Feb. 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at TPC Wakefield. The cost is $25. Call or e-mail Tresa if you plan to attend.

This month’s Business After Hours will tomorrow, Jan. 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Double Data, 10501 Ligon Mill Road, Suite 120.
