Last Friday’s fish fry at the Wake
Forest Fire Department raised about
$12,000, Fire Chief David Williams Jr.
said this week. The event was well
attended, and the firemen sold about 300
more plates than last year.
In other news, Williams said
the only call the department had during
Saturday’s thunderstorms was for what
was reported as a house fire but was
just a lightning strike. “Honestly, I
think every other department in the
county had something.”
The storms reduced the risk
of brush fires.
As for the cause of the
March 22 fire at 7516 Welcome Drive in
Waterfall Plantation on Thompson Mill
Road, Williams said he has heard little.
“They got some preliminary lab results
and they sent them back to confirm what
they had gotten. I don’t know whether
they got something or whether they
didn’t get something.” |
