Future building permits
cut to 40 a year

By a three to two vote, the Wake Forest Town Board cut the standard allocation of building permits for each future subdivision from 50 to 40 a year, although developers can earn back the 10 permits by showing they are installing features to cut water use by 20 percent.

the water conservation rules?

The Raleigh City Council adopted Stage 2 mandatory conservation rules last fall. These apply to Wake Forest and Rolesville residents because the city owns the water and sewer systems in the two towns.

Developers offer water
conservation measures

They came armed with a list of 100 ways to use water wisely, and by the close of the comprehensive planning committee meeting Tuesday morning they were agreeing to plant drought-resistant grass on the lawns, install water-saving appliances in the homes and tie any lawn irrigation to a source other than the town’s drinking water system.
