Late Tuesday afternoon George C. Jones Sr., the interim director of the DuBois Center on North Franklin Street, handed out paychecks to some of the people who were employed at the center in February.

Some idle thoughts

I will vote for the Wake County school bonds in the fall, but I think stripping the stadiums from the two high schools to be included in the bonds, Heritage High and one not yet named, is a mistake.

Lennar asking to reapply now
to build swimming pool

Last month the Wake Forest Town Board, acting on the recommendation of the planning board, voted three to two to turn down Lennar Communities of Carolina’s request for a special use permit for an amenities center, including a swimming pool, in Thornrose subdivision on Forestville Road.

Contests are few for May 2 primary
Precinct 19-03 voters have a new voting place

The Wake Forest residents who vote at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in precinct 19-03 will not cast their ballots in the gym lobby as they have been doing. Instead, for the May 2 party primary they will be directed to enter the gates at Trentini Stadium, go up the driveway toward the press box and go into the nearby building to find the election officials and voting machines.
