The Human Relations Council will
meet Thursday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the courtroom at the Wake Forest Police
Department.

meet Monday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at the Flaherty Park Community Center.

The Lodge at Wake Forest, a
retirement facility on South Main Street, will host a community carnival, a
free family day of food and fun, on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 2 to 8 p.m.

The Wake Forest Town Board will
hold a continued business meeting Tuesday, Aug. 5, beginning at 5 p.m. in town
hall to set the new electric rates. At 5:30 p.m. they will begin their regular
work session, and one of the agenda items is the town staff reports about the
Wake Forest Golf Course answering questions raised by John Brewer and other
golf course neighbors at the July 15 town board meeting.

The Wake Forest Planning Board and
Town Board will hold joint public hearings about planning matters
Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in town hall. The agenda will be published in the
July 31 issue of the Gazette.

The Wake Forest Town Board’s
mid-year retreat has been tentatively set for Saturday, Aug. 16, at 8:30 a.m.
at the Flaherty Park Community Center.

a.m. at The Forks Cafeteria.

The 2008 Wake Forest Area Artists’
Studio Tour will be held on two weekends: Sept. 13 and 14 and Sept. 20
and 21. The opening reception will be held Friday, Sept. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m.

presented by the Rags to Riches theater troupe Thursday, Sept. 18, at both 2:30
and 4 p.m. in the Wake Forest Community House and is free. It is co-sponsored

Raleigh and Wake County.

Good Neighbor Day bringing together
people from all over the Wake Forest community will be held Saturday, Sept. 21,
from 1 to 5 p.m. in Holding Park. It is sponsored by the Wake Forest Human
Relations Council.

will hold its annual meeting at Rock Cliff Farm on Saturday, Sept. 21, with a
pig-picking hosted by Jimmy and Alice Ray.

The Autumn Arts Festival
sponsored by the Downtown Revitalization Corporation and the Wake Forest
Cultural Arts Association will fill South White Street in historic downtown
Wake Forest on Saturday, Oct. 11. There will be a variety of art in all
mediums, from sculpture, painting, pottery, wood, jewelry and much more. There
will be a number of other attractions including live entertainment.
