Willie Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Evans

Willie Rudolph “Rudy” Evans, 91, of Youngsville died Monday morning, August 16, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in Bertie County, the son of the late Nannie Bryant Evans and Thomas P. Evans. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Elizabeth Evans; a sister, Lucretia Evans Perry; and by his wife, Frances Rebecca Allen Evans.
He was a graduate of Campbell College and Wake Forest College and taught math and science at Youngsville School from 1940 to 1944 before entering into the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He was a member of Youngsville Baptist Church being the oldest member at the time of his death and had served as church treasurer. He was a retired rural letter carrier; was retired from the Youngsville Fire Department; and had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, August 18, 2010, at Youngsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Stratton officiating. Burial was in the Youngsville Town Cemetery.
Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Glenn Evans of Youngsville and by a cousin, Fannye Neamond and husband, Dave, of Windsor.

Elaine H. Kaiserling
Elaine H. Kaiserling, 72, of Raleigh died Friday, August 13, 2010, at Wake Medical Center. She was born in New York City, N.Y., the daughter of the late Henry Kaiserling and Margaret Louisa MacIntyre Kaiserling, and was a retired elementary school teacher.
A memorial service was held at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2010 ,at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Ms. Kaiserling is survived by her sister, Marjorie K. Kalcinski of Raleigh; nieces, Diane Osborne of Wake Forest and Susan Brna and husband, Ronald, of Raleigh; great-nieces and nephews, Zachary Osborne and Maggie Osborne and Jennifer Brna and Roxanne Brna; childhood friend, Zita Losey of New York, N.Y.; cousins, Marilyn French and husband, Robert, of Florida and Alan Comery and wife, Phyllis, of Pennsylvania; and her canine companion, Heather.

Donald G. Bradley
Donald George Bradley, 83, of Wake Forest died Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born in Johnstown, Penn,, the son of the late Marie Walker Bradley and Joseph Bernard Bradley. Mr. Bradley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Bell South.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Philip Tighe officiating. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife, Roseline Bradley; daughters, Nancy Lilley and husband, Doug, of Wake Forest and Diane Brandon and husband, Ray, of Acworth, Ga.; son, Rick Bradley and wife, Libby, of Keller, Texas; sister, Rose Marie Petak of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; sister-in-law, Lois Bradley of Johnstown, Penn.; grandchildren, Stephanie Lilley, Abby Lilley, Amy Brandon, Trey Brandon, Spencer Bradley, Ryan Bradley and Shelley Bradley; and great-granddaughter, Arianna Sallean.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Gina Murray for her extraordinary care and compassion.

Robert Alan ‘Bobby’ Beitel
Robert “Bobby” Beitel, 45, of Zebulon died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Alaska, the son of Robert Allen Beitel and Margaret Lynn Eastman Beitel.
 Funeral services were held at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, August 14, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Chaplain Eric Raddatz officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Remona Perry Beitel: parents, Lynn and J. Danny Mills of Wake Forest and Bob and Marilyn Beitel of Cataula, Ga.; daughters, Amanda Collins and husband, Russ, of Lake Royale, Denise Lewter of Louisburg and Michelle Martin of Zebulon; sister, Linda Walls and husband, Steve, of Madison, Ala.; step-brothers, Jason Mills of Raleigh and Joey Mills of Cary; step-sister, Lori Mills of Cary; grandchildren, McKenzie, Blake, Nathan, Dillon and Ayron; and great-grandson, Alexander.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald Medlin, Cowboy Burdette, James Moody and Winston Cooley.

Eleanor Fisher Wall
Eleanor Fisher Wall, 83, of Wake Forest, died Thursday, August 12, 2010.
he was born in Durham County, the youngest of twelve children of the late Walter Eugene Fisher and Daisy Elizabeth Earnhardt, and was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church.
he had a career working for Burlington Industries for over 40 years while helping her husband, R.P., run a small tobacco farm.
Eleanor was a dynamic person who lived life to the fullest, enjoying everything involving Carolina sports, gardening, caring for her pets, bowling, cooking out, playing cards, dominoes, fishing and golf, in which she achieved five holes-in-one during her lifetime. Eleanor was an excellent cook, with banana pudding, okra and Cornish hen being big favorites. Everyone loved buying her fresh blueberries. She also canned fruits and vegetables, frequently giving away food to anyone. Most of all she loved being generous with her time and talents and laughing with her family and friends.
Mrs. Wall is survived by her sons, Kevin Wall of Raleigh and Timothy D. Wall of Elon, and a brother, James Fisher of Concord.

A gathering and celebration of the life of Eleanor Wall will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, August 21, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family following the service. A graveside service will follow at Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Carlton M. Lloyd
Carlton M. Lloyd, 81, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the William M. Dunlap Center for Caring.
He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Rubert and Mary Nervia Lloyd, and attended Glen Royal Baptist Church and Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Lloyd was a retired service technician with Sears and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A graveside funeral service was held at 10 o’clock Friday morning, August 13, 2010, at Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Faile and the Rev. Al Thomas officiating.
He is survived by his sons, David Lloyd of Creedmoor, Kevin Lloyd and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh and Jerry Lloyd of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Robyn Lloyd and Jeff Lloyd of Columbus, Ohio, and Emily Lloyd and Erin Lloyd of Raleigh; and daughter-in-law, Terri Lloyd of Columbus, Ohio.

Evelyn C. Griffin
Evelyn Crabtree Griffin, 88, of Clayton, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Brian Center of Clayton.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 14, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Cline officiating. Burial was in Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughters, Linda Brinkley of Wilmington and Anita Kennedy and husband, Lloyd, of Clayton; son, Donald Griffin and wife, Virginia, of Clayton; as well as eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Griffin and Patsy Griffin, and by her son, Ronnie M. Duncan.
Pallbearers were Tim Childers, Donald W. Griffin, II, Joe Riske, Dale Otto, David Carpenter, Greg Harrington and Chad Harrington. Daniel Wooten served as an honorary pallbearer.

Kermit D. Carter Sr.
Kermit David Carter Sr., 84, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 ,at Wake Medical Center.
Mr. Carter was born in Wake County, the son of the late Lottie Young Carter and Ed Carter. He was a member of Rolesville Lodge # 683 A.F. & A.M., a charter member of the Orphans’ Lodge #761 of Oxford, past Patron of the Millbrook Eastern Star Lodge # 293 and a member of Rolesville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, August 12, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial was in Montlawn Memorial Park with Masonic graveside rites.
Mr. Carter is survived by his sons, K. David Carter Jr. and wife, Marilyn, of Cary, Danny R. Carter and fiancée, Kathy Kahl, of Youngsville and Larry Carter and wife, Bea Walker, of Youngsville; brothers, Thomas H. Carter of Garner, Elbert Carter of Carthage and Edward Carter of Cochran Ga.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Laura Ann Carter; sisters, Lucy Timberlake and Bethina Edwards; and by his brother, Fred Carter.
