David Allen Himes
David Allen Himes, 70, of Wake Forest went to Heaven on July 11, 2010. The Stony Hill Fire Department flags are flying at half-mast for a great and truly loved man.
Dave fought Burkitt’s Lymphoma in 1992 and after many years of remission, it returned in 2009 in the form of CLL. Through it all, humor prevailed. He always had a smile and something funny to say to lighten the mood. Even in the very end, a raise of his eyebrow let us all know he was still that fun-loving, quick-witted Dave, or as the grandkids knew him, “Grandpanator”.
He was born to Margaret and Eugene Himes in Lafayette, Indiana, on June 16, 1940. Dave leaves behind his beautiful and loving wife of 48 years, Donna Kaye Himes; daughters, Crista Desiree Sullivan of Boca Raton, Florida, and Jennifer Kaye Davis and husband, Don, of Williamsville, New York; grandchildren, Alyssa, Whitley and Sky, all of Boca Raton, Florida, and Jim and Casey, both of Williamsville, New York; sister, Lila Leck of Powell, Ohio; and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his baby sister, MaryAnna.
Dave attended school in Hudson Lake and New Carlisle, Indiana. He graduated in 1958. After school he enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and later went on to have an extremely successful career with IBM as a senior marketing manager for 37 years.
After retiring, Dave became the treasurer of the Stony Hill Fire Department until this day. He traveled the world and was an avid car enthusiast; his 1965 Shelby Cobra was one of his prize possessions. He also had a passion for art; Dave was a very talented artist. Dave was an extremely personable man with an awesome sense of humor. Dave will be missed, but will always be with us in our hearts forever.

Beth Ann Elliott
Beth Ann Elliott passed away peacefully, July 24, 2010, after a very difficult and brave fight against brain cancer. She was born August 15, 1949, in Chillicothe, Ohio. She resided there until after her husband passed and has since been living at her sister's home in Wake Forest.
Beth was surrounded by her sister Linda, and brother-in-law Glenn Cook. They valiantly fought every step of this difficult journey with Beth Ann. All who know Linda and Glenn know of their strength and compassion during constant support and care of Beth. While there is no greater love than God's, the love and sacrifices they so willingly gave without complaint are lessons for us all.
Beth Ann touched many lives in Wake Forest and was warmly embraced by its community. She was graciously and completely enveloped by the members of Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship, led by Dick and Ginger Graves. Michele and Mike Sanders, Joey, Stacey, and Summer Jacobs, Brandon McCain, Sheri and Drue Bagnal, Denise Griffith, and too many others to name have walked and lived in God's light to bring music, comfort and peace to Beth and her family. Their kindness will always be remembered. The support of Linda's work family at SAS has also been amazing, and so greatly appreciated. The family also wishes to thank this incredible Wake Forest community, Dr. Kirkpatrick, Dr. Reardon, and all the nurses and staff of Duke University. They gave her wonderful and compassionate care during this battle.
Beth Ann was an inspiring example of giving back during life and of grace and dignity in death. Becoming a surgical nurse, she inspired her sister to enter nursing and her niece to become a surgeon. These strong women have walked the often challenging path of medicine with skill, compassion and empathy to patients and their families. Beth cared for her husband, Robert (Bobby) Elliott, for many years during a chronic illness with dedication and love until his death in October 2009.
Beth is survived by her sons, Zachary and Seth Elliott, daughter-in-law Tiffany, and grandson Brayden, all of Chillicothe, Ohio. Brayden loved Beth (his Hoo-Hoo) dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Cook, brother-in-law, Glenn, niece, Dr. Brenda Draper, nephews, Dustin Baker and Brad McCain, and many other great nieces and nephews.
We know that God and his angels have gently lifted Beth Ann to a peaceful place and she will dwell in the house of the Lord. Those of us here on earth will greatly miss Beth's special smile, beautiful eyes, extraordinary strength and vibrant spirit. We will carry her in our hearts always.
