Rita Elise Dubour
Rita Elise Dubour, 89, of 739 South Wingate Street, Wake Forest, died on May 22, 2010, at Hillside Nursing Center. Mrs. Dubour was born on December 12, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank Pieraccini and Vienna Doprato Pieraccini.
Mrs. Dubour is survived by her daughter, Lillian Croft Sambraus of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Lori Yarosh and husband, Dan, of Wake Forest, Eric Sambraus and wife, Tara, of Wake Forest and Richard Sambraus II of New Jersey; great-grandsons, Andrew and Alex Yarosh and Brandon and Logan Sambraus; and her beloved cat, Thai. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Enoch E. Croft and Joseph Dubour; sons, John Benjamin Croft and Clyde David Croft; and by her son-in-law, Richard Sambraus Sr.

Emily Rogers Merritt
Emily Rogers Merrritt, 93, of 6200 Emily Lane, Rolesville, died Saturday, May 22, 2010.
he was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Roxie Scarborough Rogers and Robert Latney Rogers. Mrs. Merritt was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church and was married to Clifton Merritt, who preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, May 25, 2010, at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges and the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by her daughters, Nancy M. Kelly and husband, James, of Rolesville and Linda M. Self and husband, Sam, of Mt. Airy; sons, Wayne Merritt and wife, Julia, of Rolesville, Dr. James Merritt and wife, Sue, of Wilmington and William Merritt and wife, Martha, of Florida; special granddaughter, Roxey Wilkins of Rolesville; additional grandchildren, Clifton Mangum, Anna Burkett, Stephen Merritt, Ashley Merritt, Bradley Merritt and Carey Merritt; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Wall, Clay Wilkins, Kyle Wilkins, Bobby Chalk, Sam Self and Robert Jones.

Kenneth Wayne “Ken” Allred Sr.
Kenneth Wayne “Ken” Allred Sr., 56, of Louisburg, died on May 22, 2010. He was born in Guilford County, the son of Nancy Corine Gregory Allred and the late Jimmy Lee Allred Sr. He sold and serviced industrial pressure washers and cleaning compounds for 35 years.
A private service will be held at a later date.
urvivors include his sons, Lacy Eben Allred and wife, Terron, of Kill Devil Hills and Kenneth Wayne Allred Jr. of Benson; brothers, E. Dwight Allred of Louisburg and Jimmy Lee Allred Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Cary; sisters, Nancy K. Hill of Maydon and Teresa Walker and husband, Mike, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Aston Allred and Dillon Allred. Along with his father, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Hinnant Mitchell Allred.

Mozelle Wiggins Wheeler
Mozelle Wiggins Wheeler, 91, of Wiggins Road, Louisburg, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at her home. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late J.W. “Fatbuck” Wiggins and Aurelia Emily “Sissie” Bridges Wiggins.
Mrs. Wheeler worked as a burler for Burlington Industries Wake Finishing Plant and helped run the family farm as well as being a homemaker. She loved to drive a car, truck, tractor and a lawn mower. She loved to cook. She served on the Youngsville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, helping firemen at fund-raising events.
After retiring, she worked at Hill Ridge Farms for 10 years. Her hobbies were raising flowers at her home, quilting and cooking for her family. She was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church for 77 years and served on the Hospitality Committee, and served as its chairman for many years and was treasurer for the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Riddic Wheeler; a son, Donnie Wilson Wheeler; son-in-law, James W. Bailey Jr.; brothers, Haywood, Woodrow and Stephen Wiggins and sisters, Mamie Hill, Bessie Cook, Elsie Mangum and Lola Place.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon May 22, 2010, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her daughters, Sandra W. Bailey of Raleigh and Vickie Wheeler of Riverside, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Janice Wheeler of Wake Forest; six grandchildren, Theresa Shearon and husband, John, Angela Beebe and husband, Vinnie, and April Hamilton, all of Wake Forest, Rob Laws and wife, Lisa, Rebecca and Valerie Laws, all of Riverside, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren, Clayton Foushee, Ethan and Ann Marie Shearon, Alison Kirby, Jennifer and Jacob Beebe and Adam and Joshua Hamilton; one sister, Myrtle W. Bailey of Louisburg and many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends who are family, especially, Frances Marshall, Alma Small, Danny, Norma and Taylor Keith and Darlyne Cash.

Ollie M. Wharton
Ollie M. Wharton, 85, of Laurinburg, formerly of Franklinton, died Monday, May 24, 2010.
Ollie was born on September 18, 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry O. Wharton, and by her brother, Charles Mattox.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon, May 27, 2010, at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton with the Rev. Harold Woodlief officiating.
urvivors include brothers, Fred Mattox of Darlington, S.C., Johnny Mattox of Florence, S.C., and Carl Mattox of Darlington, S.C.; sisters, Betty Stanley of Wilmington,, Peggy Smith of Wagram, and Connie Raber of Aberdeen; children, Rose Ann Norwood of Laurinburg, Bernard Norwood of McColl, S.C., Richard Norwood of Rockingham, S.C., Mickey Norwood of Birmingham, Ala., and Teresa Higgins of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Gina Gibson, Glenn Powell, Beth Leviner, Danny Norwood, Marijohn Boyd, Alex Norwood, Rickey Privette, Taylor Higgins, Curtis Higgins and Jordan Higgins; great-grandchildren, Brandi Gibson, Miranda Gibson, Kayla Faulk, Heather and Duncan Leviner, Scott Powell; and great-great grandchildren, Triston Burroughs and Alyssa Brigman.
