Mae Wheeler Paschall Knott
Mae Wheeler Paschall Knott, 89, of Youngsville, died Monday morning, March 29, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her family.
he was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Annie Wilson Wheeler and Benjamin Wester Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Louis Paschall and P.W. Knott; her sons, Bennie and Larry Paschall; siblings, William Wheeler, Mary Stephens, Bennie Wheeler, Alvin Wheeler, Bruce Wheeler, Catherine Lewis and Doyette Wheeler, and by her grandson, Allen Paschall.
Mrs. Knott was loved by her family, her church and the community. She was known for her great cooking and desserts that she prepared for her family and many friends in the community.
Funeral services were held at 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon March 31, 2010, at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair and the Rev. Mark Stephens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Knott is survived by her children, LaRue Paschall Perry of Liberty, Cynthia Paschall McConnell of Wake Forest, Linda Paschall of Youngsville, Bobby Paschall of Maryland and Barnie Paschall of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Estelle T. Pearce
Estelle Talley Pearce, 90, of Youngsville, died Sunday evening March 28, 2010, at her residence.
he was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Inez Winston Talley and Cicerio Farrah Talley, and was married to E. J. Pearce, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Pearce was a retired clerk at The Wake Weekly newspaper in Wake Forest.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 31, 2010, at Youngsville Baptist Church. Burial was in Youngsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearce is survived by her daughters, Harriett J. Pearce of Marietta, S.C., and Janet P. Bailey of Raleigh; grandsons, Cliff Bailey of Wake Forest and Travis Bailey of Youngsville; and great-grandsons, Jayden, Taylor and Colby Bailey.

Jean Chester Lackey Lewis

Jean Chester Lackey Lewis, of Wake Forest, born August 31, 1921, and after a period of declining heath, departed this life on March 28, 2010. 
he is the daughter of the late Marvin Alphonso Lackey, M.D., and the late Lavallette Carrington Parker Lackey. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Clement Lackey.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, when her father was serving as a naval surgeon. She grew up in Mooresville, and later lived in High Point. She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Stanton, Virginia, and also of Bowman Grey Medical School. She specialized in laboratory technology and spent her career setting up labs for various doctors’ offices and hospitals.
he met her husband when she was learning to fly airplanes in High Point and they later married in January of 1948. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary this past January. After her marriage, she and her husband lived all over the U.S., from Florida to Montana, Oklahoma, Colorado and Alaska. They settled in Shelby, and lived there for a number of years until they ultimately retired to Boone. For the past six years, they have lived next to her daughter and family in Wake Forest.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 31, 2010, at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Seedorf officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Eldridge Daniel “Ed” Lewis; her daughter, Nancy Lewis Livingstone and husband, Alan Wayne Livingstone, of Wake Forest; and two grandsons, Jonathan Daniel “JD” Livingstone of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Brian Samuel Livingstone of Raleigh.
he was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Wake Forest and loved and enjoyed the fellowship of the members there. Prior to moving to Wake Forest, she and her husband lived in Boone for over thirty years and have many friends there who are loved and missed dearly.
The family would like to express gratitude to the doctors and staff of Rex Hospital for their compassionate and excellent care on more than one occasion, to Dr. Phillip Burton and his staff for their compassion, care and understanding, to special caregivers, Betty “Betsy” Williams and Beverly Harvey, who give so freely, and to Pastor Tommy Seedorf for being there each step of the way, and to the members of the Woodland family for their love and support through this difficult time.

Dorothy E. Jensen
Dorothy Elizabeth Jensen, 87, of Wake Forest, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her residence.
he was born in Douglas County, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Bertha Jacobs Wheeler and Henry Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jensen; grandson, Charles Gurley, her son-in-law Roger Gurley, five brothers and two sisters. 
Funeral services will be held 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon April 3, 2010 at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will be held in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Gurley; son, Neal Jensen and wife, Molly; grandchildren, Diane Martin (Arthur), Cynthia Schaffer (Matthew), Patrick Jensen and Kelly McAleer (Justin); great-grandchildren, Amanda, Lacy, Charlie and Steven Gurley, Erik Martin, Allen and Daniel Schaffer and Liam McAleer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry Franklin Holmes

Henry Franklin Holmes, 84, of Franklinton, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Brantwood Nursing Center, Oxford.
He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Irene Perkinson Holmes and Herbert Graham Holmes. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as manager with Piggly Wiggly.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock, Monday morning, March 29, 2010, at Franklinton Baptist Church With the Rev. Johnny Holmes officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of 66 years, Adell Bailey Holmes; sons, Johnny Holmes and wife, Carolyn, of Franklinton and David Holmes and wife, Trish, of Raleigh; sisters, Nell Cyrus of Franklinton and Dorothy Newton of Creedmoor; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Franklinton Baptist Church, 108 West Mason Street, Franklinton, NC 27525.
Pallbearers were Kevin Holmes, Michael Holmes, Patrick Holmes, Zach Reagan, Chris Brewer and Bob Newton.

Fannie Mae Overton
Fannie Mae Freeman Overton, 89, of Raleigh, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Hillside Nursing Home in Wake Forest. Fannie is now in God’s Care with her husband, Abner B Overton.
he was born December 25, 1920, in Granville County, the daughter of the late Ed Freeman and Lucy Conyers Freeman. Fannie and her husband moved to Raleigh in 1963 where she lived until she moved to Hillside in 2008. Fannie was a member of Olde Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Raleigh.
Fannie worked in the Wake County School system and a local day care center for 10 years before retiring. She was always proud of her flowers, her yard and the things that she made by hand; knitting items, blankets, household items. She won numerous ribbons at the NC State Fair for her work. Fannie was always friendly to all that came to see her. Fannie was an excellent cook. As a result early in the 1980’s “The Raleigh Times” did a feature on her desserts.
A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Shannon Scott officiating.
he is survived by her four children, Yvonne Lowe and husband, Alton, of Wake Forest, Nelson Overton of Wendell, Randy Overton and wife, Lillian, of Raleigh and Cathy Overton of Raleigh; six grandchildren, Debbie Keeter, Lynde and husband, Tim Brooks, Stephen Overton, Jonathan Overton, Stephanie Williams, Christin and husband, Gray Smith; andseven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Hillside Nursing Home for the long term care of their mom.

Warren Donald Palmer
Warren D. Palmer, M.D., a resident of Raleigh since 2001, died on March 23, 2010, at the age of 81. 
He retired to Raleigh after living in Patchogue, Long Island, New York, for forty-five years (1956-2001). Dr. Palmer served in the United Stated Army as a medical laboratory technician from 1946-47, and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He graduated from New York University and New York University Medical School, class of 1955. He moved to Patchogue after receiving his medical degree and worked as a family physician at the Patchogue Medical Group and in his own practice in Farmingville (1963-72). He was board-certified in Family Practice.  He was also trained as a radiologist, completing his training at the Bronx VA Hospital, which was part of Mount Sinai Medical Center, and was a board-certified Radiologist as well. He was a member of the Suffolk County Medical Society and Suffolk County Radiological Society. He ended his career as a physician for the New York State Workers Compensation Board. He enjoyed his retirement in the Wakefield community very much.
Funeral services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Farmingville, N.Y.
Dr. Palmer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita Palmer, his children, Michael Palmer and Renee Palmer, his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Jacqueline S. Post
Jacqueline Shorrock Post, 81, formerly of Rolesville, passed away on March 22, 2010, at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ. Prior to moving to Oak Ridge, N.J., in 2008, she lived in Rolesville.
Mrs. Post was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas B. Post, in 1995 and by her son, William J. Post, in January 2010. She is survived by a sister, Charlotte Gaylor of Port Orange, Fla.; her daughter, Kathleen and her husband, Richard Liptak, of Oak Ridge, N.J.; her sons, Robert and his wife, Sandy Post, of Emerald Isle, James and his wife, Sandy L. Post, of Emerald Isle, Thomas and his wife, Denise Post, of Wake Forest; and a daughter-in-law, Mary, of Emerald Isle. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private funeral was held in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Burial was in Raleigh Memorial Park.

Brenda Rigsbee Albarran
Brenda Rigsbee Albarran, 47, of Snow Hill, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Brightmoor Nursing Center in Salisbury. She was born in Durham County and was a loving wife and mother.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 31, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Cash officiating. Burial was in the Rigsbee Family Cemetery in Durham.
Mrs. Albarren is survived by her husband, Juan “Johnny” Albarran; daughter, Stephanie Marie Morales of Snow Hill; sons, Robert Stephen Wheeler and Jessi Lee Albarran of Snow Hill and Juan Albarran Jr. of Ark.; grandchildren, Maria Albarran, Carlos Morales and Galieo Albarran; and grandmother, Viola Rigsbee.
