Mikeal D. Mitchell
Mikeal D. Mitchell of Rolesville, died Thursday morning, March 11, 2010.
He was born in Wake County on February 20, 1938, to Alberta Johnson and the late Lubin E. Mitchell. Mike married Constance (Connie) Rogers on April 16, 1960, and together they shared almost 50 years of marriage, two children, and three wonderful grandchildren.
Mike was president of Mitchell Heating & Cooling and a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Mike believed in giving to his community. He was a retired volunteer fireman with the Rolesville Volunteer Fire Department and served as a member of the Wake County Planning Board and the Rolesville Planning Board for eight years each. Mike was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church; a 32o Degree Mason, Rolesville Masonic Lodge No. 683; member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Raleigh; and a member of Amran Shriners of Raleigh.
Mike also enjoyed raising and caring for animals and was a certified meat goat producer.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, March 13, 2010, at Rolesville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges, the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery and the Rev. Jeff Pethel officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mike will be most remembered as a loving husband, a father who was a supportive and strong role model, a devoted and fun-loving PaPa, and a good friend. He leaves his wife, Constance (Connie); his daughter, Theresa Matula and son-in-law, John; son, Allen Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Billie Harris Mitchell; three grandchildren, Megan Matula, Anthony Matula and Chase Mitchell. Mike’s wife and children think he hung the moon and his grandchildren are certain that he did.
Mike is also survived by his brother, Halton Mitchell and wife, Barbara; sister, Phyllis Beatty and husband, Lennie, of Lucia and Jewell Coates and husband, Gary, of Raleigh.

Pallbearers were Neal Mitchell, Douglas Young, George Wall, Jonathan Crawford, Stacy Pearce and Tommy Barham.

Sally M. Papczun
ally M. Papczun, 77, of Raleigh, died Monday, March 15, 2010.
he was born November 8, 1932, in Stamford, Conn., the daughter of the late John and Sara Troy Mulrooney, and was married to Edward W. Papczun, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Daniel and John Mulrooney, and by her son, Edward W. Papczun Jr.
Mrs. Papczun was educated at the Sacred Heart Academy in 1951 and St. Vincents Hosp. School of Nursing in 1954. She was retired as a nursing administrator at Boca Raton Community Hospital after 27 years of service in 1995 and was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, March 17, 2010, (St. Patrick’s Day) at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with Father Philip Tighe officiating.
Mrs. Papczun is survived by three daughters, Sara (James) Moore of Raleigh, Mary (Rick) Fernandez of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Ann (John) Ford of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sons, Mark Papczun of Boynton Beach, Fla., and John Papczun of Boca Raton, Fla.; sisters, Mary Jane (Richard) Marshall of Simsbury, Conn., and Margaret (Frances) Keaney of Stamford, Conn.; five grandchildren, Austin Fernandez, Jennie Ford, Amanda Ford, Kaley Ford and Jake Moore; many nieces & nephews.
