Mary Helen Layton
Mary Helen Gordon Layton, 91, passed away at Hillside Nursing Center after a stay of over eight years.
Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock Monday morning, March 1, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery and the Rev. Bill Haley officiating. Burial was in Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Layton is survived by her daughter, Barbara L. Macon and husband, George, of Wake Forest; sons, Richard T. Layton and wife, Faye, and Gordon Layton and wife, Linda, of Louisburg; five grandchildren, Randy Layton, Chris Layton, Jeff Layton, Kim Layton Abbott and Karen Macon Cobbs; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; and one niece.
he was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Katie Gordon; her husband, Jack Thomas (J.T.) Layton; and sisters, Margaret G. Driver, Ruth G. Pruitt and Rowena G. Keith.

Bobby Ray ‘Bob’ Casey
Bobby “Bob” Ray Casey, 72, of Louisburg died Wednesday evening, February 24, 2010. He was born in Johnston County, the son of the late Trudy Belle Johnson Casey and Alvin Rose Casey.
Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy. He founded Casey’s Services Heating & Cooling and later owned & operated Casey’s Mobile Home Supplies in Youngsville. He was a loving Dad, Grand Pa and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, February 28, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Joyner officiating. Burial was in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his children, Dean Casey and wife, Rhonda, of Wake Forest and Tammy Casey Clark and husband, Ronnie, of Wake Forest; former wife, Marie Powell Casey of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Forest Casey, Brianna Clark, Gabrielle Casey, Dale Clark and Trey Burgess; brothers, Dennis Casey and wife, Catherine, of Raleigh and Kenneth Casey and wife, Ida, of Wake Forest; and sister, Judy Casey of Raleigh. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Casey and Tony Casey.
Pallbearers were Dale Clark, Mike Todd, Ricky Casey, Chad Powell, Andy Griffin and John Hill.

Trudy Brown Stephenson
Gertrude "Trudy" Brown Stephenson, 70, of Wake Forest passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of the late Mary Helen Wheeler Brown and George Baldwin Brown.
Mrs. Stephenson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation was held at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Thursday evening, February 25, 2010.

Stephenson IV of Cary, Nicole Stephenson of Raleigh, Megan Lynn Stephenson of Greendale, Wisconsin, Katherine Elizabeth Stephenson of Greendale, Wisconsin, David Lucas Stephenson Jr. of Greendale, Wisconsin, Daniel Matthew Stephenson Jr. of Tampa, Florida, and Jacob Mikel Stephenson of Tampa, Florida; brother, George B. Bobby Fredrick Hight
Bobby Fredrick Hight, 76, of Wake Forest died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at WakeMed.
A memorial service was held at 7 o’clock, Monday evening, March 1, 2010, in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Philip Lyon and the Rev. Mike Wells and the Rev. Mike Holmes officiating.
Mr. Hight is survived by his brother, Donnie Hight of Wake Forest; sister, Delores Edge of Wake Forest; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward Peter Johnson
Edward Peter Johnson, 78, of Wake Forest, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010. He was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, the son of Irene and Henry Johnson, and was the loving husband of the late Sylvia Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock Friday morning, March 5, 2010, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
Mr. Johnson is survived by daughters Deborah Volpe and her husband, Christopher, of Wake Forest and Judith Johnson of Asheboro as well as by sisters Eugenia Sturek and Madeline Johnson of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mr. Johnson will be remembered as a champion of veterans’ rights while living in Latham, New York, and as a meteorologist who had a lifetime interest in weather. He will be cherished as a loving father, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
