Roland Leon Grenouillou III
Roland L. Grenouillou III, 32, of Wake Forest passed away Monday afternoon, September 14, 2009, at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Wake County, the son of Millie McManus Grenouillou and Roland Leon Grenouillou Jr.
He was a missionary who had served in Venezuela, China, the United Kingdom and Tampa, Fla., and many other mission fields. Roland had recently received his master of divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and had devoted his life to faithful Christian service.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, September 17, 2009, at Richland Creek Community Church with the Rev. Mike Frye officiating. Burial was in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
Mr. Grenouillou is survived by his parents, Millie and Roland Grenouillou of Pamplin, Va.; sister, Kate Pullen and husband, Daniel; niece Makenzey and nephew Jackson, all of Buxton; and numerous friends.

Milliette Reese Hare
Milliette Reese Hare, 71, of Rolesville, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, September 14, 2009. She was born October 3, 1937, to the late Frank and Catherine Reese.
he was preceded in death by her brother Frank and sister, Elinore. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Alton Hare, and their two children, David Hare and wife, Denys Hare, of Wake Forest and Catherine Hare-Nye and husband, Bill Nye, of Raleigh. She is also survived by her brother, Fredric Reese of Brookhaven, Miss., and grandchildren, Charles, Don, Racheal and Molly.
Milliette graduated from Virginia Intermont High School in Bristol, Va., in 1955 and attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. While in Hattiesburg, Milliette hosted a children’s television show, “The Story House,” and appeared in several television commercials, including an ongoing role as Sunny for Sunbeam Bread.
Milliette was proud to have served her country through civil service, retiring in 2006 after 27 years, most recently with the Special Operation Command at Fort Bragg.
Milliette was a cancer survivor, bravely fighting and winning her battle with breast cancer in 1986. She loved playing the piano, the beach and most of all her family.
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Wake Forest on Saturday, Sept 26, 2009, at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Katherine Alma Kearney Freeman
            Katherine Alma Kearney Freeman, 49, of passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at her residence in Franklinton.
             Kathy’s spirit is at rest in Heaven after battling cancer the past two and a half years.
            She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and RN. She was a graduate of Franklinton High School, Vance-Granville Community College and earned an associate degree as a registered nurse.
            She is survived by her husband, Albert Freeman; her sons, Derrick and Nathan Freeman; her parents, Henry Hal Kearney and Faye Ellington Kearney; her sister , Alisa Medlin, wife of Tim Medlin and mother of Ethan Medlin; her sister, Sharon Jones, wife of Mike Jones and mother of Bridgette Jones and Chloe Jones; and her grandmother, Pearl Ellington. All family members live in Franklin and Granville counties.
            Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2009, at 4 p.m. at Popes Chapel United Church of Christ, 1237 Pocomoke Road, Franklinton.
            Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice of one’s choice.
            The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service
