The Town of Wake Forest’s Public Art Commission is seeking an artist or a team of artists to create two or more site-specific art works that will offer compelling, contextually sensitive outdoor seating as part of Phase II of the South White Streetscape project, where construction will begin this spring.
The art works will be located in two prominent outdoor spaces. Because the works of art will be highly visible, the commission wants the selected artist or artists to capture the unique character of the town and its historic White Street business district. Another consideration is to provide practical, comfortable seating for visitors of all ages.
Submissions by artists must be received no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, March 1. The request for qualified artists is being advertised locally and nationally. Find the Request for Artist Qualifications at www.wakeforestnc.gov/government/PublicNotice.aspx. For more information, call or email Senior Planner Agnes Wanman, 919-435-9516, awanman@wakeforest.gov.
