Vacancies remain on four advisory boards

An excellent way to learn about Wake Forest and contribute to the town is to serve on one of the town’s advisory boards. Although many people were appointed to the boards in December, there are still vacancies on the Board of Adjustment, the Cemetery Advisory Board, the Planning Board and the Urban Forestry Board.
Candidates for the Planning Board and the Board of Adjustment must reside in the extra-territorial jurisdiction just outside town limits. Candidates for the Cemetery and Urban Forestry boards can live in town or in the ETJ.
You can find an application online at www.wakeforestnc.gov under government and advisory boards or you can ask for one at the reception desk in the Wake Forest Town Hall at 301 South Brooks Street. Deliver the application to town hall or mail it to Wake Forest Town Hall, Attention: Town Clerk, 301 South Brooks Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587. You can also fax it to 919-435-9419. Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 3.
Applicants will be invited to introduce themselves to the mayor and town commissioners during their work session on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 5:30 p.m. The board will make the appointments during its regular meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21.
New terms will commence when the appointments are announced. The new advisory board members will serve three-year terms except if they are appointed to fill an unexpired term.
For more information, call or email Town Clerk Deeda Harris at 919-435-9410 or dharris@wakeforestnc.gov.
