Warm hearts will gather at two local restaurants in the coming week to support the Hearts from Home project undertaken by Holden McLemore and the student government at Wake Forest-Rolesville High, a project that will host a party this month for the spouses, partners and children of deployed Fort Bragg troops.
You can dine Monday night, Feb. 8, at Chick-Fil-A or Thursday night, Feb. 11, at The Forks Cafeteria. Just say you are there for Hearts from Home. Chick-Fil-A, the Forks and Milton’s, where the first event was held, are donating a portion of their dinner profits from 5 to 8 p.m. to the project. Harris-Teeter is another partner in the project.
The fundraising efforts include selling individual paper hearts for $1 each in the school and the community, asking area restaurants to donate a portion of their profits on one night to the cause or locating a fundraising jar near the cash register. He is asking other area businesses if they would be interested in buying donation hearts or helping with fundraising in the first two weeks of February.
If you are interested in helping you can send a check to WFRHS SGA with Hearts from Home in the memo line and mail it to Wake Forest-Rolesville High School, SGA advisor Robbin Faulkner, Wake Forest-Rolesville High School at Heritage High School, 1150 Forestville Road, Wake Forest, N.C. 27587.
You can reach McLemore at raceman1214@earthlink.net or 218-3977.
