NC GreenPower returning to the market

Published Nov 9, 2011

There were surprises Saturday at the Wake Forest Farmers’ Market, including a new-to-the-market vendor with wonderful tomatoes and some cantaloupes. There were tomatoes in other stalls, along with beautiful cool weather greens, sweet potatoes, potatoes, butter beans and black-eyed peas.
This coming Saturday NC GreenPower representatives will be at the market to talk about power that is friendly to the planet and how to be part of the green power movement.
Also, the music wlll be by Kyle Scobey.
In their usual corner, Bailey and Phyllis from Triple B Farm will cook up sausage biscuits if the weather permits.
The market is winding down, shutting down for winter. The last regular market will be on Saturday, Nov. 19.
In December, the market vendors plan to return for two Holiday Markets on Dec. 3 and Dec. 17.
Then in January, February and March the Winter Markets will be held on the third Saturdays with shorter hours, 10 a.m. to noon.
But now, in October, from 8 a.m. to noon you will find a cornucopia of fall produce along with fresh flowers, meats, eggs, cheese, pottery, stained glass, baked goods including a wide variety of breads, yarns and knitted goods, and garden ornaments.
