Historic properties the topic May 17

Wake Forest has one local historic district, two historic districts on the National Register and several historic properties on the list.

Many of the people buried in Wake Forest Cemetery built and/or lived in the historic homes in town. Some of those homes and some of the historic areas of town are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Sunday, May 17, Wake Forest Planner Agnes Wanman will discuss those properties and areas for the members and friends of the Wake Forest Historical Association. She will have a PowerPoint presentation along with other information.
The meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Wake Forest Community House on West Owen Avenue is free and open to everyone. The meeting is one of four general meetings the association holds each year with a special meeting or social event for members only. Membership is $10 a year.
