Hearing Tuesday night about zoning ordinance changes

Published Jan 29, 2010

Tuesday night the Wake Forest Planning Board and Wake Forest Town Board, meeting together, will hold a public hearing to consider changing two parts of the town’s zoning ordinance to reflect the vision of the Community Plan adopted last year.
“Staff is proposing these amendments to the Wake Forest Zoning Ordinance in order to give developers the option of mixed-used developments in the NB, Neighborhood Business District,” Senior Planner Charlie Yokley wrote in his analysis.
One amendment would allow dwelling units above non-residential uses in the neighborhood business district and spells out the parking requirements if dwelling units are included in the plan.
The hearing will begin at 7:30 p.m. in town hall. Because the planning board has no other new or old business on its agenda, this may be a short meeting. It will be televised live on Channel 10.
