Got an opinion about the bus service?

Published Aug 11, 2010

Whether or not you ride the town’s local loop bus or the express service to and from downtown Raleigh, you probably have an opinion about the services.
You will have a chance to air those opinions and offer suggestions about improvements to the bus service during a meeting Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. It will be held in the town hall meeting room, and you can reach that from the new extension of Taylor Street between Elm and Wait avenues.
Town of Wake Forest staff members and staff from Capital Area Transit (CAT) will be there to discuss the present service, possible modifications to the existing schedules, and changes riders might wish.
The local and express bus service began in July 2008 after the town joined with Triangle Transit and the City of Raleigh for the local circulator bus and the week-day rush-hour express service to and from downtown Raleigh.
The services have seen a gratifying increase in use during the past year. The number of riders on the local loop bus has increased by 209 percent while the ridership on the express has grown by 128 percent.
