Four seats now available on advisory boards

Published Aug 4, 2010

There are now four open seats on town advisory boards, and interested people who live in the town limits or inside the extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction (ETJ) are encouraged to apply online or in person.
The open seats are on the Recreation Advisory Board, the Board of Adjustment, the Historical Preservation Commission and the Human Relations Council. There is a restriction on the Board of Adjustment seat. Senior Planner Charlie Yokley said that must be a person living in the ETJ and will be the alternate for the regular ETJ member. It will be for a full term of two years, and the person will be appointed by the Wake County Board of Commissioners upon a recommendation by the Wake Forest Town Board.
Applications will be accepted through the end of Friday, Aug. 27, and the town commissioners will interview the candidates at their Sept. 7 work session and make the appointments at their Sept. 21 regular meeting. The work session begins at 5:30 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7 p.m., and both are held in the meeting room on the second floor of the Wake Forest Town Hall.
Applications are available at town hall at 301 Brooks Street or online at www.wakeforestnc.gov/Government/AdvisoryBoards.aspx. They must be mailed, delivered by hand or faxed (435-9419) to be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 27. You may also ask Town Clerk Deeda Harris for more information at dharris@wakeforestnc.gov or 435-9413.
