For this month only the Wake Forest Community Council meeting has been moved from its regular date on the second Wednesday to the third Wednesday.
Carolyn Furr, one of the council members, said the change was made because a number of members were on vacation during the second week “and there are some important things on the calendar.”
The changed meeting will be at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 15, at The Forks Cafeteria. Furr encouraged members to eat lunch at the cafeteria in recognition that Karen and Don Winstead allow the council and other community and civic groups to use the meeting rooms without charge. Furr also asked members to park on the side of the building, leaving the closer parking spaces for the older people who patronize the cafeteria.
The Wake Forest Community Council is composed of most civic and nonprofit groups in and near town. The monthly meetings held from September through June are an hour long. The representative from each group shares information about upcoming events and projects. Individuals may also join. The dues are $10.
