The Wake Forest Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 21, in the depot parking lot on South White Street.

The Youth Advisory Board will meet Saturday, Aug. 21, at 9 a.m. at the Flaherty Park Community Center.

The Cemetery Advisory Board will meet Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. in town hall.

The Human Relations Council will meet Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. in the courtroom at police headquarters.

The Wake Forest Town Board will hold its annual mid-year retreat Monday, Aug. 30, beginning at noon in Patterson Hall on the seminary campus. Call Town Clerk Deeda Harris if you want to attend, 435-9413.

A meeting for residents to offer their opinions and suggestion for the town’s local loop and Raleigh express bus service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the community meeting room on the ground level of the Wake Forest Town Hall.

There will be an official grand opening ceremony for the new Wake Forest Town Hall on Friday, Sept. 10, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. with NBC 17 news anchor Melanie Sanders as the emcee, after which all town and area residents are invited to a receptions and tours of the new building. It is expected to reach gold, perhaps even platinum, LEED certification.

The fifth annual Good Neighbor Day is planned for Sunday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Holding Park at the corner of South Main and West Owen. There will be free food, local entertainment and fun for the family. It is sponsored by the Wake Forest Human Relations Council.

The B.W. Wells Association will hold its annual meeting Sunday, Sept. 19, with a barbecue lunch served at 1 p.m. and the meeting to follow. The event at Rockcliff Farm at the end of Bent Road is open to members only but memberships are available on the day.
