Plan to attend a public workshop about Triangle Regional Transit to hear and discuss how transportation in the Triangle area can be improved, including options for rail and bus routes. The North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor will hold a series of public hearings in July about the draft environmental impact study for the proposed high-speed passenger rail service between Richmond (extending on to Washington, D.C., and New York City) and Charlotte. The corridor understudy is that portion between Richmond and Raleigh. The hearings will be on July 13 at Northside Elementary School, 164 Elementary Ave. in Norlina; on July 26 at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S. Salisbury St., Raleigh; on July 27 at Aycock Elementary School, 305 Carey Chapel Road, Henderson; and on July 29 at Franklinton High School in the gym at 6948 N. Cheatham St., Franklinton.
