Everyone is invited to our tree celebration Thursday at the Community House on West Owen Avenue.
Beginning at 10 a.m., you will watch as youngsters from the local schools are honored for their creativity and thoughtfulness in painting and coloring the Arbor Day posters, and a group of students from Jones Dairy Elementary perform several musical selections.
State Park Ranger Brian Bockhahn from the Falls Lake State Recreation Area will be the speaker. Bockhahn is the ranger who does an annual 24-hour count of animals, birds and insects he finds.
There will be T-shirts and mugs printed with this year’s poster contest winner, and the Wake Forest Woman’s Club and Wake Forest Garden Club will provide cookies, snacks and punch.
It is one the happiest events of the year.
