                A Walk Through Bethlehem, the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church’s live nativity, will be held each night from Friday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 13. Call 556-7777 for details.

                The Wake Forest Greenways Advisory Board will meet Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 a.m. at The Forks Cafeteria.

                The Wake Forest Historic Preservation Commission will meet Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in the planning cottage on Brooks Street. Note the new time.

                Shops and studios will offer a variety of entertainment, food, art and music during Art After Hours Friday evening, Dec. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. See the article in this week’s Gazette.

                The Wake Forest Christmas Parade will step out at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, on South White Street in the historic downtown.

                Children can enjoy free crafts at Alphabet Soup before and after the parade, and Santa Claus will be in the depot parking lot on Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pictures.

                After the parade, parents are invited to drop their children off – or stay with them to enjoy – a free family holiday movie night from 4 to 6 p.m. at Crossroads Entertainment. The movie is The Santa Clause, and everyone is encouraged to wear pajamas. Santa will make an appearance, so bring your cameras.

                The American Legion Post 187 will hold its monthly Pancake Breakfast Sunday, Dec. 13, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the post on East Holding Avenue. Large families pay no more than $20, and this month they will find Santa enjoying a stack or two.

                The Virginia Tull Music and Art Series sponsored by Wake Forest Baptist Church will present The American Youth Harp Ensemble Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. in a holiday concert by candlelight. The 12-member ensemble is the country’s leading youth harp group.

                The Wake Forest Urban Forestry Advisory Board will meet Monday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. in the planning cottage on Brooks Street.

                The Wake Forest Town Board will hold its regular monthly action meeting Tuesday, Dec. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. in town hall.

                There will be a reception Thursday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce to introduce the new executive director, Marla Akridge.

                Light up the night with First Light on Dec. 31. The second year of this event should prove to be bigger and, it is sincerely hoped, warmer.
