            The Wake Forest Farmers’ Market will offer seasonal vegetables, meats, crafts, and baked goods from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, in the depot parking lot on South White Street.

            Practice your brogue because the first Wake Forest IrishFest – there are several all over the country – will be held at Festival Park on South White Street Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 9 p.m.

            The fall quarterly meeting of the Wake Forest Historical Association will be Sunday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Stony Hill Family Life Center. Curtis Harrison will relate the history of the Stony Hill Community. Louis Jackson will provide the displays and arrangements. The meeting is free and open to everyone.

            Wednesday, Sept. 30, there will be a ribbon-cutting at the Fidelity Bank on South White Street in downtown Wake Forest. The event is not to celebrate a new business but a business that is celebrating its centennial, 100 years of doing business. Fidelity Bank is headquartered in Fuquay-Varina and has two Wake Forest locations, the second being on Capital Boulevard. The downtown branch opened in 1971 on the site of the Forest Theatre, which burned in 19

            The Town of Wake Forest will officially open the 117-acre E. Carroll Joyner Park on Sunday, Oct. 4.

            The voters in school board District 1 will elect a new board member on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

            The Autumn Arts Festival will be held in downtown Wake Forest Saturday, Oct. 10.

            Everyone in the Wake Forest Fire District is invited to the grand opening for the Wake Forest Fire Department’s Station #3 on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. The station is at 1412 Forestville Road. Fire prevention brochures will be available and the Ladies Auxiliary will prepare and serve the refreshments.

            The Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce will present a forum Tuesday, Oct. 13, for the two candidates for mayor and the five candidates for two town board seats. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wake Forest Town Hall.

            Wake Forest voters will elect a mayor and two commissioners Tuesday, Nov. 3.
